Seven East End gallery websites are now spam domains
During an Instagram-handle sweep of our art listings, we re-visited the official website of every gallery and museum we cover.
Seven domains — all still linked from guides, map listings, and old press — no longer belong to the businesses they are named after.
tullaboothgallery.com (Tulla Booth Gallery, Sag Harbor) — hijacked; the domain now serves an unrelated World of Warcraft blog.
illearts.com (Ille Arts, Amagansett) — hijacked by a gambling-spam site.
veredart.com (Vered Gallery, East Hampton) — serves a spam redirect shell.
rentalgallery.com(Rental Gallery, East Hampton) — dead; DreamHost “Site not found.”
drawingroom-easthampton.com (The Drawing Room, East Hampton) — no longer resolves; zero Wayback captures.
romanfineart.com (Roman Fine Art, East Hampton) — serves only a 503 error on an expired certificate.
shinnecockmuseum.org (Shinnecock Nation Cultural Center, Southampton) — a parked domain-for-sale page.
Why it matters: a stale link is an inconvenience. A hijacked one sends a reader hunting for a Sag Harbor photography gallery to a spam page — under the gallery's own name.
Directories that never re-check their links are distributing these domains today. We removed all seven on August 14, 2026 and kept the venues themselves — most are open and active; a business and its abandoned domain are different things.
Where a contact route survived verification, we kept it — like an Instagram handle confirmed from a gallery's own archived site footer.
