Hamptons Verified

Privacy

Last updated: 2026-08-18.

We collect the minimum needed to make Hamptons Verified useful: a persona cookie to tailor your homepage, an age-gate cookie, and a cookie-consent flag — plus, only if you choose to create an account, the session cookie our sign-in provider sets (see Accounts below). We do not sell personal data.

Analytics

We measure how the site is used — pages visited, referrers, country-level location, device type — with privacy-respecting analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) and page-speed measurement (Vercel Speed Insights). This data is aggregated, is not used to identify you, and is never sold.

We record five things beyond page views, each so we can fix something: a search that returned no results, a filter combination that emptied a page, a click out to a venue's website or booking link, whether the weekend page was read past its first day, and which section was opened from the homepage.

Of these, only the first includes text you typed — a search that found nothing, so we know what to add. It is truncated, and anything containing an email address or a long run of digits is discarded rather than sent. Searches that do find something are never recorded.

Saved places

Hearting a venue saves it on your own device — your saved list lives in your browser, not on our servers. We also count the first save of each place, so we can learn what kinds of places visitors love.

We also count, in our own store, clicks on a venue's own website link — the record is only a timestamp and the venue, nothing that identifies you. It exists so that when we have a referral arrangement with a venue, we can tell them honestly how much traffic we send them.

Accounts

Creating an account is optional and buys exactly one thing: your saved places following you from one device to another. Every page on this site, including saving places, works the same with or without one — nothing is gated behind signing in except the account page itself.

Cookies

You can clear these cookies in your browser at any time.

Newsletter

If you join the Monday email list we store your address and nothing else. No issue has been sent and there may never be one — whether it starts depends on whether this site gets enough use to be worth writing. If it ever does, every issue carries a one-click unsubscribe.
