It is the same site, opened from your home screen without the browser bars — so the map and the filters get the whole screen. Nothing is downloaded from an app store and there is no account to make.
Pages you have already opened stay readable without a connection. That matters more here than it sounds: coverage on the Montauk ocean-side lots and out along Napeague is unreliable, and the beach page you want is the one you loaded before you drove out.
No notifications. Installing does not give us your location, your contacts, or a way to interrupt you.
