Kelpie is a 78.8 ft gaff-rigged schooner built in Maine in 1928, which hunted U-boats for the Coast Guard in the Second World War and raced the Mediterranean classic circuit before Captain Shannon Carleton sailed her home. Her launch collects you at the Breakwater Yacht Club in Sag Harbor with a glass of rosé, then it is a brunch, half-day, sunset or full-day sail through Shelter Island Sound, for up to 24 guests.

Where the boat leaves from

Kelpie's launch meets you at the club and runs you out to her anchorage.
Good to know
- Pick your length: 2.5, 4, 6 or 8 hours. Every option has time for sailing, light bites and a swim.
- A 50% deposit holds the date; the balance is due 24 hours before you sail. A 20% service charge is added to the charter fee.
- Bring your own food, or ask the crew about gourmet menus, including sushi prepared on board.
- Children are welcome with an adult watching them; two staterooms for changing; Bluetooth music on board.
