King Andrew Cheese
Shelter Island's cheesemonger, and it is a wagon: an 18th-century covered wagon fitted with an old Berkel slicer and real refrigeration, run by Reeve Andrew and Jessie King. A tight, curated cheese list, cured meats, condiments and bread, plus boards and catering for the house you rented. There is no storefront, so find out where the wagon is parked before you go.
⭐ Is it worth it? Buy a board and a loaf and eat it looking at the water. Just confirm where the wagon is standing that day.

A cheese-and-charcuterie wagon, not a shop with a door. The operator's own site gives 59 North Ferry Road; Northforker (September 2024) documents the wagon parking in two places on the island — beside Kilb's Farm Stand on Route 114, and the lot by White Oak Wine Garden kitty-corner from the IGA. Check the Instagram before you drive to one.
