    Cedar Point County Park

A 607-acre Suffolk County park on Gardiners Bay with picnic areas, nature trails, boat rentals and both individual and group camping. The sand strip left by the 1938 hurricane walks out to the historic Cedar Point Lighthouse, built in 1860 to guide whaling ships into Sag Harbor. Bathrooms and hot showers serve the campground. Suffolk County Parks publishes no alcohol rule for its parks, so bring nothing you would mind being asked to put away.

    Herrick Park

East Hampton Village's central park, a short walk from Newtown Lane. A recent village renovation added an ADA-compliant walkway around the perimeter, a new softball field, three tennis courts and a full-size football field, and the rebuilt washroom building is complete and open. The lawn and mature trees are still the reason to bring a blanket.
