Trophy Houses · Montauk

Eothen (Warhol Estate)

Six cottages arranged in a half-circle above the Montauk moorlands, built in the 1930s as a fishing and duck-hunting retreat for the Church family of Arm & Hammer. Andy Warhol and Paul Morrissey bought the compound in 1971 for about $225,000; Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and the Rolling Stones all stayed there. Mickey Drexler paid $27 million for the remaining 5.6 acres in 2007 and sold to the gallerist Adam Lindemann for $50 million in December 2015.
