Cedar Island Lighthouse, Cedar Point (ruin)
East Hampton · 1860
A stone lighthouse on a spit of land that used to be an island before the 1938 hurricane rejoined it to the mainland. Abandoned, unrestored, spectacular on a clear day; the walk out along the spit is 45 minutes each way, easiest at low tide. Bring water: it is further than it looks on the map.
