Nathaniel Rogers House

One of the last full-portico Greek Revival houses left on Long Island, and impossible to miss — four Ionic columns facing Montauk Highway. The miniature portraitist Nathaniel Rogers bought a plain 1824 post-and-beam house in 1840 and gave it the portico, the front parlours and the cupola. From 1894 to 1949 it was the Hampton House hotel. Restored by the Town of Southampton and open as the Bridgehampton Museum; the Museum's Corwith House site down the road is closed for now.
