The thirteenth year of it, and the part nobody expects from a small museum on the Sag Harbor Turnpike: campers spend a day as marine biologists aboard a SUNY Stony Brook Southampton research vessel, running real sampling instruments. The rest of the week is seine-netting in eelgrass, wading salt marsh, digging clams and snorkelling. Sites are across East Hampton and Southampton and change daily, so the museum is the meeting point rather than the destination.
