Quogue Wildlife Refuge Summer Ecology Program

Quogue

Ages: Four tiers by the grade a child enters in September 2026: Little Naturalist for ages 4, 5 and 6; Summer Ecology for grades 2-6; Young Explorers for grades 7-8; Explorers for grades 9-11. · Little Naturalist runs nine three-day sessions (Tuesday to Thursday) through July and August 2026; the other three are Monday-to-Friday weeks across the same stretch. · Little Naturalist $185 members / $220 non-members. Summer Ecology $325 / $350. Young Explorers $400 / $435. Explorers $450 / $485. · The 2026 sessions have finished.

The 57th year of this programme, and the cheapest real nature camp out here — $185 for three mornings with a four-year-old. The refuge's own place names do the selling: Chocolate Pudding Pond, Fairy Dell, the secret Mud Trail. Thursday is beach day on Dune Road, and parents drive that leg themselves. The Little Naturalist week is explicit that "the children do not get wet or muddy", which is the sentence a parent of a four-year-old is looking for.
